Open HOCH-N Working Sessions
28 September 2017
What links sustainable governance, reporting and transfer? How can stakeholders be convinced? And in which interdisciplinary directions can research go in order to make further progress? These questions were debated during the Open HOCHN Working Sessions this afternoon, where researchers from the HOCHN working packages presented their interim results. In one room, the topics were Governance, Reporting and Transfer and in the other one, the discussions were about Research, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Operation.

“Everyone joined the groups of their choice, which meant we were organised in groups of like-minded people who were all very interested in one special topic” |
summarised Cordula Rüth from the HOCHN project. This meant that the participants of the Open HOCHN Working Sessions could really go into detail and engage in a very open, fruitful dialogue with their peers on the research topic of their choice.
However, the methods being applied in the rooms were quite different. While workshop one transformed after the initial presentations into three self-organised groups who worked very focused and with people taking alternate terms in speaking, the second workshop’s atmosphere was rather noisy. It gave more the impression of creative chaos, with people roaming freely through the room, studying posters of HOCHN and engaging in conversations, sometimes with only one partner, sometimes with a whole group.
